What
is Lambda?
The
most emission efficient
ratio of air to fuel
in a gasoline engine
under no load is 14.7
parts air to 1 part
fuel or 14.7:1. Lambda
is simply an easy to
understand figure that
says Lambda of 1 = an
A/F Ratio of 14.7:1.
The acceptable range
in a gasoline engine
under no load conditions
is Lambda of .95 to
1.05.
What
is Fuel Volume?
Fuel
Volume is the amount
of fuel supply from
an engines fuel delivery
system based on the
size of the engine.
What
is Volumetric Efficiency?
The theoretical volumetric
efficiency of any engine
is based on inputs of
Engine Size (in Liters
or CID), Engine RPM,
Mass Air Flow (in grams
per second or lbs per
minute) and Intake Air
Temperature.
